Quality explosive setup
Marks bars where RSI sits below its threshold while momentum is positive; silent at default settings.
The indicator is a signal, not a line. On each one-minute bar it checks the connected RSI indicator and momentum indicator, and marks the bar only when RSI is below rsi_threshold and momentum is above zero on that same bar. It reads the volume input but never tests it, so volume_threshold does nothing, despite the docstring's above-average volume check.
How to read it
- Markers sit on the candles only. There is no line or pane to read.
- A marker means RSI dipped below the threshold and momentum was positive on that same bar.
- With default settings the SPY sample drew no markers, so an empty chart is expected here, not a fault.
- No marker appears until both connected indicators have a value, which can leave the first bars blank.
What it outputs
- Explosive setup signal
- A marker on each bar where RSI is below its threshold and momentum is above zero. The output is True or nothing, never False.
When it fires
The connected RSI is below rsi_threshold and the momentum input is above zero on the same bar. It flags a bar where RSI reads oversold while momentum is positive. Volume plays no part in the firing decision.
Settings
- rsi_threshold
- The RSI must sit below this value for a marker. Raising it toward 0 or higher allows markers on shallower dips, so they appear more often. Lowering it, such as to -0.5, needs a deeper dip, so they appear less often.
- volume_threshold
- No effect. The code never compares volume with this value, so changing it leaves the chart unchanged.
Pitfalls
- At default settings it marked nothing across 20,160 one-minute SPY bars from 2026-09-01 to 2026-10-01, so it is rare with these inputs. The looser presets were not measured here.
- volume_threshold is dead. The docstring promises an above-average volume check, but the code only confirms that volume has a value, so no volume filter exists.
- The RSI threshold is compared with the raw value of whichever RSI indicator is connected, with no scaling, so -0.25 only means something on that indicator's scale.
