Min
The lowest value of the last N bars, this bar included, drawn under the candles as a stepped floor.
Min keeps the smallest of the last N values of its input, the current bar included. With the default input that is the lowest close of the last 60 bars. The line drops when a new low arrives, stays flat while that low is inside the window, and steps up when it drops out of the window.
How to read it
- The line sits on the price scale, at or below every close in the window.
- Where a close touches the line, the close is making a new N-bar low.
- A flat stretch means the low is still inside the window; a step up means it just dropped out.
What it outputs
- Min
- The smallest close of the last N bars, this bar included, on the same scale as the candles.
Settings
- Window
- How many bars the low is taken over. Longer windows hold a low for longer and step less often; shorter ones follow the closes closely and touch them often.
Pitfalls
- The current bar counts, so a close can equal the line but never fall below it: 'close below Min' never fires. Compare with Min a bar earlier to catch a breakdown.
