Round
The value rounded to the nearest step at the given number of decimal places; 2 rounds to the cent.
Round rounds its input to the nearest step at the chosen decimal places. With the default of 2 decimals a close already quoted in cents is unchanged, so the line overlays the candles. Fewer decimals draw a staircase through the closes: 0 rounds to whole dollars.
How to read it
- The line sits on the price scale, through the closes.
- With fewer decimals it becomes a staircase that steps when price crosses a half step.
What it outputs
- Rounded
- The close rounded to the nearest step at the chosen decimal places.
Settings
- Decimals
- How many decimal places to keep. Fewer places make bigger steps; at 2 or more a close in cents passes through unchanged.
Pitfalls
- At the default 2 decimals a close in cents is unchanged; use 0 or 1 to see steps.
